As campaign season gets underway, we want to remind everyone to be respectful of one another and each other’s personal property.
What the Town Code says about campaign signs:
- Signs may only be placed with the property owner’s permission and are not allowed on public property or in the public right-of-way.
- Signs must be no larger than 24 inches by 48 inches.
- Signs related to an election or event can go up no earlier than 60 days before and must be removed within 7 days after.
Please do not tamper with or remove someone else’s sign, even if you disagree with the message. Doing so not only disrespects your neighbor, but it can also violate the law.
If you believe a sign is too large, improperly placed, or if you see a sign that has been defaced or stolen, please contact the Town Clerk’s Office at townclerk@townoffairfaxca.gov or by calling (415) 458-2343.
