About the program
The world’s most famous diamond is alleged to have been taken by force from Indian’s Sikh Nation in 1849 by the East India Company and given to Queen Victoria. Now, centuries later, the British Crown is facing a challenge to the acquisition of the gem and a call to return it to its rightful owners. The play, penned by
FTC’s Director, Sam Parry, presents a fictional trial based on expert testimony and a call to witnesses, including Queen Victoria herself. Don’t miss this riveting courtroom drama, wherein the audience will represent the jury and be tasked to reach a verdict: “Should the gem be returned? Or was it a ‘gift’ as alleged?”
