Musical Fundraiser for the Carter Peace Center – October 10
In 2018, Fairfax Town Council created one of the first of the country’s proclamations to celebrate US President Jimmy Carter, which was sent to The Carter Center.
On October 10, these celebratory efforts will continue with a music event to raise funds for California high school students to attend the 2026 Summer Youth Summit at the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School of Peace and Conflict Resolution, a Fairfax to Fairfax effort, given the school is in Fairfax, Virginia.
The great Brazilian Guitarist José Neto who worked with the late Harry Belafonte will be performing along with other local notables, for an intimate and beautiful evening of music, as we recognize and value Carter’s approach to peace and conflict resolution.
The event is raising funds through this musical event to ensure the next generation has the meaningful tools to create peace and manage conflict resolution with civility.
