In Fairfax, climate action is a community effort.
Together, MCE and the Town are turning climate goals into concrete action—and delivering
results that both residents and Town leaders like you can be proud of.
Through our partnership, Fairfax residents, businesses, and local organizations are gaining
access to clean energy programs, community sponsorships, and emissions-reduction efforts that
bring real, local benefits.
Fairfax is making the most of MCE’s rebates and resources by saving energy, supporting clean
transportation, and creating real community benefits.
We’re proud to share some of the ways we made an impact together in 2025:
- $564,220 in energy efficiency rebates awarded to local residents and businesses since
Fairfax joined MCE. These rebates cover upgrades like enhanced lighting, insulation, and
other climate-friendly home and business improvements. - $65,500 in EV purchase rebates distributed to income qualified drivers.
- 2 EV charging ports installed using $7,000 in rebates including publicly accessible
stations and those for Town fleet vehicles. MCE rebates of up to $4,500 per port can be
combined with Transportation Authority of Marin incentives to potentially cover nearly the
entire installation cost.
Partnering with Fairfax staff through MCEP
Through the Marin Climate and Energy Partnership (MCEP), the Town of Fairfax and MCE are
advancing local climate goals with support from a regional network. MCEP—a coalition of
sustainability staff and climate agencies across Marin—helps communities:
- Align Climate Action Plan strategies, from emissions reductions to program rollout
- Share data and track progress toward greenhouse gas targets
- Collaborate monthly to address pressing climate issues and leverage regional resources
MCE and Fairfax staff actively participate in these sessions, ensuring the Town’s climate actions
remain informed, coordinated, and effective
