Fairfax residents can now add “plastic clamshell containers” marked #1 PET to their recycling collection.
This includes berry and salad deli-style plastic containers and other square clear plastic tubs, if they are marked with a #1.
But it’s always better to choose reusables like metal and glass containers, when possible, for the most environmentally friendly choice.
