The Town of Fairfax offers the opportunity to collaborate with Parks & Recreation on sponsored events to increase opportunities for community engagement and recreation.
Instructions
Before completing this application, please read all instructions carefully.
1. Event Planning:
Events must be fully planned before submitting this application.
2. Applicant Presentation:
The applicant must attend the Parks & Recreation Commission (PARC) meeting when their request is heard and make a brief presentation (5–10 minutes). Applicant will be contacted to arrange after csubmission of completed application.
- PARC Meeting Schedule: Second Monday of each month, 7:00 p.m.
- Location: Fairfax Women’s Club, 46 Park Road, Fairfax, CA.
3. Public Access:
All events must be open to the public.
4. Fee Waivers:
Fees may be waived for nonprofit organizations.
5. Application Deadline:
Complete applications must be submitted at least two months prior to the event date.
6. Submission:

7. Departmental Review:
The Public Works and Police Departments will review complete and submitted applications before PARC consideration.
Eligibility Guidelines
PARC may authorize Town facility use for:
- Community events that provide recreation opportunities for Town residents and are open to the public.
- Nonprofit or Fairfax-resident-led events that are open to the public and serve as fundraisers for recognized charitable organizations
Important items to remember when planning your event:
- Police Dept. Notification by Parks staff
- Fire Dept. Notification by Parks staff
- ABC permit (if alcohol served)
- Proof of insurance (sometimes required)
- Port-a-potties (large events)
- Debris box and waste management required
- Prohibition of Styrofoam usage
- Plastic bag ban in effect
- Building reservation locations: Pavilion / Women’s Club
- Park reservation locations: Bolinas Park / Peri Park / Ball field* (approval by Town Clerk required upon submission)
