Notice is hereby given that the Town of Fairfax, acting as Lead Agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), is releasing for review and comment to all agencies, organizations and interested persons, a Draft Initial Study and Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the Town of Fairfax Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program (Project).
Project Description
The purpose of the Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program (BPMP) is to maintain the existing inventory of bridges in good or fair condition, correct structural deficiencies in a bridge’s life before requiring costly rehabilitation, and extend the service life of existing bridges. Various improvements and levels of repair are needed for each of the three bridges. Construction work in the creek would be completed during the dry season when the local creek segments are at their lowest flow rates, and the work areas would be dewatered by temporarily diverting potential flows.
