The Runoff Charge tax (Fund # 109156) is the tax collected to fund providing maintenance and repair of the Town’s storm water drainage facilities; to provide capital improvements to the town’s storm drainage system and to provide other clean storm water activities. Established in 1995 to provide a funding source to provide enforcement of the Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Ordinance. This charge is per “run-of unit” as set forth in the Municipal Code ; with a current tax rate of $15 per each run-off unit for use code 11 (residential) and 14. The remaining use codes are billed at a fixed rate per square footage of run-off area which ranges by use code from $.0005 to $.004. This is a fixed amount which can only be increased by election.
