When should I call 9-1-1?

You should call 9-1-1 to report any incident that requires an emergency response by Police, Fire, or medical personnel. Examples would be: crimes in progress or just occurred, fires or hazardous conditions, accidents with injuries, or persons who are gravely ill, passed out, or have fallen and are injured.

Do you fingerprint children?

Yes. The police department does not store these records. Children should have prints taken each year, as their prints become more defined as they reach early adulthood.

What hours is the police station open to the public?

The police station is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You may also call the department’s business phone at 415-453-5330 at any time day or night and speak with a dispatcher who will answer your questions or take messages for the appropriate officer.

How many vehicles do you have?

We currently have a fleet of nine vehicles. This breaks down as follows: six marked patrol vehicles, two unmarked vehicles and one parking buggy.

How many officers do you have?

We are authorized for 12 sworn officers. This breaks down to seven Police Officers (one position is currently frozen for budgetary reasons), two sergeants, one Lieutenant  and the Chief of Police.
