The Ross Valley Sanitary District (RVSD) will be conducting sewer infrastructure improvements in Downtown Fairfax as part of its FY 2024/25 Gravity Sewer Improvements Project.
Construction is anticipated to begin the week of January 12, 2026, and is expected to take several weeks to complete. The Fairfax work area includes portions of Sherman Avenue and Bolinas Road and where they intersect, which is the final phase of this multi-jurisdictional project.
This project will replace approximately 2.8 miles (14,042 linear feet) of aging gravity sewer pipelines across the service area. The improvements are intended to address critical maintenance needs and reduce risk in high-priority locations.
What to expect during construction:
-
Temporary traffic delays and sidewalk closures during work hours
-
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Bolinas Road
